A memorable experience took place during the first virtual exchange organized by Flooco. Students from Collège Kouassia-Niaguini (KN) and Collège Ekra Mathieu (CEMA) met online with Team Flex and Mr. Rollin, founder of Use Your Ears, a Columbus, Ohio based non-profit organization that provides beginner, intermediate, advanced music/songwriting courses, mentorship, and workshops for youth over the age of 8 to 24.
The atmosphere was both exciting and enriching. The students had the opportunity to share their cultures, traditions and passions with their new American friends. Mr. Rollin began with a captivating introduction about his school and its artistic programs. He then talked about collaborative projects with his students, which aroused a lot of admiration and curiosity.
The exchanges were fluid and lively, with each participant asking questions and sharing their impressions.
This session not only helped to strengthen the students' language skills, but also to build bonds of friendship and intercultural understanding. The enthusiasm was palpable and everyone left the session with a sense of pride and fulfillment.
This virtual exchange marks the beginning of a series of promising interactions and demonstrates the power of education and music to bring cultures together.
